Friday 2nd June - walks **** The Dip to Felixstowe Ferry - sunny periods.

After two pretty full ? on windsurfing sessions and with our van in the garage today I gave today a miss especially with the NE wind forecast to blow for another week, the main downside of this run of wind is we are getting a lot of cloud with temperatures struggling to make double figures while most of the country is basking in warm sunshine with 20 plus degrees! Having to take the van in at 8.30 Mag and I decide to get up early and drive to The Dip for a walk arriving at 7.20 with a good breeze blowing from the NNE, mainly cloudy but we did get a few breaks in the cloud which certainly improved things. It was lovely and quiet as we walked along the prom to Felixstowe Ferry, just the odd walker, a couple having breakfast at their beach hut and a brave paddle boarder heading up the River Deben, he then crossed over to Bawdsey beach, goodness knows where he was going? We bumped into a couple of friends walking back to Felixstowe and stopped for a chat before continuing to the ferry getting some nice pics when the sun was out, a few poppies are showing but as usual the pretty valerian. Through the boatyard and returning along Tomlin Bank full of bloom from the small trees, many pink and white on the same tree, just lovely. We drop the van off at the garage and head for home for breakfast, then despite really aching form my windsurfing I manage to do my exercises in the back garden:) Then after lunch we walked down to the seafront and back through the town to pick the van up making it 4.50 miles walked today!
I was then pleased to get another pic on ITV?s About Anglia weather report this evening for the third day running, on a roll:) So hopefully back on the water tomorrow at Felixstowe then maybe a trip to the River Stour on Sunday?
